"New Resident In The Jamestown Settlement"

Having lived in Virginia for many years, I recently revisited the Jamestown Settlement. The effort that the restoration crews had at this site was remarkable. In this painting, I used my imagination to add a barn owl in the kitchen of this once abandoned home. In such a situation, I also thought that old reading glasses and books might still be remaining on the fireplace mantle. But what type of books? Of course, the Holy Bible, and a book entitled, Surveyor I which was one of only several available in the early 1600’s.
